About this role: 

The SRE organization is composed of more than 30 people in 4 different countries. You will work with some incredibly talented and passionate developers as well as a robust and globally distributed SRE organization with a solid technical background. The Cloud Architect will be responsible for defining, refining, and guiding the execution of the long, medium, and short-term vision for our systems, as well as for major investments across our product suite. This individual will be working in close partnership with other Architects, SREs, senior engineering, and product leadership. 

Responsibilities

• Co-architect new services for failure tolerance, and self-healing, and as establishing clear scaling paths.
• Curate and communicate the key architecture pillars that apply to all architecture engineering for Samsung Ads.
• Develop technical blueprints for the Samsung Ads platform.
• Architect new features and components with the team based on product and internal requirements.
• Balance a judicious mix of top-down declaration and bottom-up collaboration.
• Analyze and constructively critique architecture and design with peers.
• Constantly prune and steer: analyze current versus ideal states, detailing GAPs, and re-architect existing components to address growth, performance, scalability, migration, and change management challenges.
• Research and evaluate best-of-breed technologies to inform architecture decisions. Perform build-vs-buy and cost/benefit analysis.
• Maintain up-to-date architecture documentation and flows as it relates to components, data, and their interdependencies.
• Provide consultancy and guidance to engineering teams as they build and evaluate components.
• Provide consultancy to engineers during component testing and productization to ensure fidelity against agreed-on architecture and acceptance criteria.
• Provide consultancy and guidance to non-engineering teams, such as product, privacy, and governance regarding component and data behaviors and characteristics.
• Participate in internal training to improve knowledge of both existing components and general architecture best-practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert for the challenges of infrastructure and operation.
• Contribute to the global SRE practice.
• Establish capacity and growth plans to be executed by automation.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a senior architect role or as a senior/staff engineer with architecture responsibilities.
• Experience working as a cloud developer with AWS and experience working with Kubernetes. 
• Strong expertise across broad computer science fundamentals: Hardware, operating systems, software, data structures, and networking.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing architecture for a large global product.
• Comfortable presenting and creating consensus using multiple methods: Written diagrams and text, in-person meetings, in-person and remote presentations, including occasional cross-office travel.
• Hands-on experience and comfort with: 
• classical Software Development Life Cycle
• modern SDLC tooling including source control, reviewing, CI, and CD.
